A Cold, Gray Day

We had a lovely Easter/Conference weekend.
The boys were wonderful during the 8 hours of Conference we watched,
our Conference party was a hit,
Sam and his brothers attended the Priesthood session in the Conference Center,
we enjoyed an Easter egg hunt and dyed Easter eggs,
we visited with family,
and to wrap it up on Monday night we had a Family Home Evening with Sam's family,
complete with a nice Easter dinner and a pinata for the boys!

This morning we woke up to a cold, gray drizzle on its way,
and my mood matched the weather perfectly.
We treated the gloominess by spending the morning with watercolors, beautiful music, story-reading, block towers, rain-watching, and chocolate chip cookie baking.

It was just what the doctor ordered.

I'm so thankful for washable paints
and boys who are best friends
and weather that's beautiful even while gloomy
and whimsical storybooks
and talented individuals who create uplifting music that feeds my spirit.

And chocolate.
Oh, how I'm thankful for chocolate!

  1. My boys are quite the artists. I love what they painted. You should frame some of them. I also love the picture that you took of them looking out the window. I would have loved to have spent the, cold, gray day with all of you. And chocolate is my weakness, too. Love you guys. XXXXXOOOOO
