Cuddly Boy

Lately Talmage has been doing stuff like this a lot. He will be sitting next to me and then lean his head down against my arm or lay himself down on my lap. I love it!
Sadly, the other thing he has been doing the last couple of weeks is pushing me away. If I am doing something he doesn't like, such as trying to unbutton his shirt or shielding his eyes from the light, which he always wants to stare at, he will grab my hand and push it away from him! It always breaks my heart just a little tiny bit when he pushes me away. I know it's only the first of many little tiny heartbreaks to come. My mom and I have talked about how it is so hard to see your children grow up and become more independent, and yet that is exactly what your goal with them is! I'll just enjoy these sweet moments while they last.

  1. Totally unrelated to your post, but I was noticing that your hair has gotten really long. That's all.

  2. For some reason, I'm reminded that Sam's first words were "DAYNK-DOO," which we quickly recognized as "THANK YOU."

So, even though time brings independence, it also brings deeper expressions of gratitude.
