My sister, Breanne, is here visiting this week and the boys have been so happy to have her here!
She arrived late last Wednesday night, and since then we have been playing hard...
at least, as hard as we can muster the energy to in the sweltering heat and humidity.
We've gone on a couple of bike rides and played on the playground and hiked around Meeman-Shelby State Park a bit.
Breanne watched the boys on Friday night and had a pizza party and movie night while Sam and I went on our first out-of-the-house date since Valentine's Day, I think! (Thanks, COVID...)
All we did was pick up sandwiches and smoothies at Tropical Smoothie Cafe and then drove around through the countryside eating and talking, but it was so nice to just get out of the house for some uninterrupted conversation.
Breanne taught the Primary section of our at-home Church meeting on Sunday, made yummy churro bites, and even accompanied us to take care of our friends' chickens!
We've visited a fun city playground we discovered was open (but required masks...so sweaty!), hit a clearance event at a nearby kids' consignment store (baby clothes!!!), had a water balloon fight, drove out to the country to play at a church's splash pad that was open, had a dance party, went to ALDI, made a makeshift backyard slip-n-slide with the sprinkler and a tarp, and had a lot of smoothies and cold chia pudding with mango.
It's definitely been a more low-key visit than we've had in the past,
but we've managed to find some fun things to do and we have more fun plans on our radar for the next few days with her!
