Casey Jones Village

Over Spring Break, we took a day and headed over to Jackson to check out Casey Jones Village.
It's a collection of old-fashioned shops, a museum, and a vintage ice cream parlor centered around Casey Jones' famous story of how he saved his train full of passengers while only he himself died.
It happened to be his 155th birthday, so admission to the museum was only $1.55 and they served us birthday cake, too!
The boys had a great time playing on the train (especially ringing the bell!) and walking through the original Casey Jones house.
It was a simple little outing, but perfect for our little troop.
While eating ice cream a woman stopped to comment on my 4 little boys+my pregnant tummy (we get LOTS of comments), and she said, "You are a blessed woman!"
I couldn't agree more.

Also, Maxwell desperately needs a haircut but it's going to be hard to say good-bye to those baby wispies! His flyaway hair always makes us smile.

  1. It's so fun to see historical places like that! I loved visiting colonial Williamsburg in Virginia with Breanne. It's cool to imagine what life was like back then. I'm glad you guys had fun!

  2. This looks like little boy heaven!! I love that someone said you're blessed instead of having your hands full or similar things that most parents of lots of kids get :)
