Today I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, I suppose.
Little things were going wrong right and left
and I was in no mood to handle it all.
Fitting that it drizzled and snowed almost all day.
Sometimes when I have days like that, I like to combat the grumpies with "yes."
I have a "yes" day where, without telling the boys, I try to respond to all of their requests by saying "yes," unless doing so would cause a serious problem.
"Can we make chocolate chip cookies?"
"Can I have another cookie?" (And another, and another?)
"Will you play a game with us?"
"Can we watch a movie?"
And as their excitement about the day grows, my happiness does, too.
It wouldn't be good to have "yes" days all the time,
but every once in a while they are just what the doctor ordered.
