Festivities of the Fourth

Isn't the 4th of July so wonderful?
This year had all the classic elements of celebration.
We celebrated with a parade,
a traditional BBQ,
homemade root beer and homemade ice cream (BEST root beer floats!),
sack races, ice chalk, and water balloons for the kids,
family dinners,
croquet,
and 2 nights in a row of spectacular fireworks!

Happy Birthday, America!
Oh, how we love you!

  1. The pictures of the sack race are beyond awesome! The intense looks on the kids faces was cracking me up. I need copies of these.

    1. Aren't they great? They had me laughing. I especially love the big one of Peter...his face is classic!

  2. Priceless photos! I love seeing the world through innocent children's eyes. This was the absolute best celebration of the 4th of July that I have ever seen, even if it was only through pictures.
