One Year

On January 31, 2014, I made the decision to abandon my family blog,
which was almost exclusively a photo-journal of our family's activities,
and turn over a new leaf.
I felt compelled to share bits and pieces of our lives and our thoughts.
I was desirous to express the joy we find in our beliefs and in the simple things in life.

And so it was that "plain and simple joy" began.
Life right now is really busy and I feel a great need to prioritize and eliminate the unnecessary from my life.
I am constantly evaluating how I spend my time.

But, for some reason, I have continued to feel impressed that this is something I need to do right now.
And periodically, as I wonder if it is all for naught,
someone lets me know how the truths expressed here have affected their life.
I have definitely felt guided along this journey over the past year,
and I hope and pray I can continue to share light, truth, and joy.

So thank you, readers.
Whether I know you read or not,
whether you comment or not,
whether you gain insight or read simply out of curiosity,
knowing you exist increases my motivation and helps make this feel like a worthwhile endeavor.

Thank you.

  1. I appreciate your blog. It is always insightful and uplifting. I find that even Ashlyn likes to read your posts and talk with me about them. I am grateful we can both benefit from your positive, thought-provoking and inspiring words.
