After our midnight rendezvous picking Avalon up at the airport,
we all slept in a little bit the next morning.
That afternoon, we got snowcones from my very favorite snowcone place.
Seriously, I think those snowcones are what kept me going during my last trimester of pregnancy with Lincoln. I allowed myself the luxury of one per week during those miserable summer days. They have the softest ice! And $1.50 for a good-sized cup is tough to beat.
After introducing her to the wonder of AJ's Snowcones, we made a visit to the splash pad.
It was a little chilly and rainy,
but the boys had a lot more fun than their expressions would lead you to believe.
After we cleaned up, we took Avalon to experience the joys of Cici's Pizza,
the cheapest all-you-can-eat pizza buffet around.
$5 for unlimited pizza, pasta, salad, breadsticks, and dessert isn't too shabby.
Avalon enjoyed experiencing a family tradition she missed out on
since she wasn't yet born when my family lived in the Houston area.
After spending another night on hold with customer service
due to Sam's return flight from Yale being cancelled
(just his ticket this time)
I finally got the issue resolved and his flight plans secured
and we decided we were up for another late night.
